Symptoms may include lower abdominal pain, discharge, bleeding after intercourse, discomfort during intercourse.
Penetration of infectious agents (most commonly bacteria) into the endocervical canal.
A doctor may perform an examination, take swabs for analysis of infections, and prescribe ultrasound examination.
Treatment includes the use of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs. In case of a chronic process, physiotherapy may be necessary.
Use of condoms, regular visits to the gynecologist for preventive examinations and treatment of inflammatory processes.
