Plantar fasciitis, or equinus foot, is an inflammatory disease of the connective tissue of the foot, which is characterized by painful thickening and twisting of the connective tissue, usually around the plantar aponeurosis. The pathology can lead to serious chronic pain and impaired movement.
Pain when walking, foot fatigue under load, foot deformation, bumpy formations on the sole.
The most common causes are improper footwear, past foot injuries, genetic predisposition.
The diagnosis is made by an orthopedic surgeon based on medical history, examination, and, if necessary, X-rays of the foot.
Treatment may include conservative methods (physical therapy, wearing orthopedic insoles, special exercises) or surgical intervention (foot deformation correction surgery).
Choosing the right footwear, regular foot exercises, weight control, timely treatment of foot injuries and diseases.
The pathology is treated by an orthopedic surgeon.
