Pharmacological properties
Hydrocortisone acetate is a steroid hormone of the adrenal cortex; when applied topically, it has anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, anti-allergic, vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory properties.

It is recommended as an adjunct in the treatment of diseases of the muscles, joints,and sprains.
