Tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendon or tendon apparatus, which usually occurs as a result of overuse or injury. It can occur in athletes as well as in people leading a sedentary lifestyle.
The diagnosis of tendonitis includes a doctor's consultation, X-ray and ultrasound of the tendons.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, physiotherapy, massage, therapeutic exercises, and sometimes surgical intervention may be used to treat tendonitis.
Tendonitis is treated by orthopedists, rheumatologists, or traumatologists.
